lofi.town just turned one year old. That's wild to us. What started as a cozy little world to vibe in has turned into a real community with real impact, and we wanted to celebrate that properly. So we put together our biggest update yet.
What's New
Supporter Tiers. lofi.town has been entirely self funded by the team, a few coin purchases, and our amazing supporters and donators on Ko-fi. We love that and we want to keep it going. In an effort to continue development we wanted to introduce a low cost way to support us and get even more customization and expression out of the game. We aren't pay gating any activities that help with our main goals, just added nice little benefits for helping us along the way.
Our first tier, Cozy at $2.99/month, gets you supporter cosmetics, recolors, a special name tag, a custom focus code, +20% focus bonus, and 5 outfit presets and 5 burrow slots (up from 2 and 3). Our second tier, Cozier at $9.99/month, is for the super fans and bumps everything up — +30% focus bonus, AFK fishing, 10 outfit presets, and 7 burrow slots. If you just want to play for free, nothing changes for you. We're not locking productivity or social features behind a paywall. That's not what we're about.
Swamp Fishing. You can now equip a swamp rod after paying 10,000 coins to unlock it and catch over 60+ new fish inspired by the community. This is just more ways to enjoy and chill after a hard day's work.
Go Karts. We expanded the map with a go kart area. Same idea, just more stuff to do when you want to take a break.
A ton of new cosmetics. Self explanatory. Go look at them!
Gifting. You can now gift a Cozy or Cozier subscription to someone in town. If you know someone who's been locking in and deserves a little something, hit the gift icon in the shop.
Economy Changes
We need to talk about this one because we want to be transparent about why we're making changes.
We give out a ton of free coins and we will always do that. But it devalues the cosmetics and coins that people are buying to support us. Things are also a bit too easy to get right now. So here's what we're doing.
- •Cosmetic prices increased 30-75%. Legendaries are special and should feel like it — rarer items see a bigger increase. This means you unlock a legendary cosmetic after about 10-14 days of studying instead of 8. Still very achievable, just a bit more of a grind.
- •Animal bodies now cost 40,000 coins.
- •Some special legendaries now cost 50,000 coins.
- •Furniture prices decreased by 20%.
- •Coins from purchases increased 3-4x. You now get way more coins for the same price: $2.99 now gives 10,000 coins (up from 4,000), $5.99 gives 25,000 (up from 10,000), and $11.99 gives 60,000 (up from 25,000). If you've already bought coins, we're retroactively giving you the extra coins to be fair. Nobody gets left behind on that. Contact us on Discord.
- •Grace period on cosmetic prices. We won't increase prices on cosmetics for multiple weeks after this change to give everyone time to grab what they wanted at the current price.
How We're Doing
We are absolutely killing it on the growth side and achieving our mission of making people more productive, making the world a bit less lonely, and helping people achieve their goals. Here are the numbers.
These numbers are insane to us. Over 117,000 hours of focused work. 17,000 friendships. 31,000 people hanging out in this little world we built. We don't take any of that for granted.
