Why lofi.town Exists

When we started, it was just vibing and having fun building a shared world where people could hang out. Now it's turned into something else entirely.

We're focused on three things: helping you be more productive, helping you achieve your goals, and making the world a little less lonely. Life is busy. Everything feels like it's speeding up constantly. We want lofi.town to be a place where time slows down, you get what you need done, and you build relationships with everyone else looking for the same thing.

How We're Measuring This

Making the world more productive. We're tracking collective productivity hours across all users and pushing to grow that number year over year. Right now we're at over 15,000 productive hours, with a big chunk of that coming from the new focus sessions.

Helping people achieve their goals. We're building goal-setting features that let you state what you want to achieve, track your progress, and tell us when you hit your targets. As we get feedback, we'll keep building tools to help you along the way. Have something that's blocking you, want something to exist, just open a thread in the feedback channel on discord and we will get working on it.

Making the world less lonely. We've had over 13,000 friend requests sent in-game. We're adding more features to connect you with like-minded people who want to work together and have a richer social experience. We see lofi.town becoming the ultimate third space, somewhere you can meet new friends who share your ideas, goals, and dreams.

Over the next week we'll have a public page where you can see the impact lofi.town is making and track our progress on these numbers.

What We Shipped in 2025

This year we released cosmetics, fishing and the pier, burrows, study sessions, task lists, Piper, the cafe, and a few other things we snuck in along the way.

Some numbers from the year:

What's Coming in 2026

Accountability Partners. This one's been requested a lot. More details coming soon.

Fishing 2.0. We're expanding fishing into a full progression system. You'll earn XP, level up, and unlock new fish, bait, lures, and rods as you go. More fish and a bounty system where you can talk to the fishing NPC, get assigned tasks, and earn bonus XP. We're also exploring pet and companion progression tied to fishing still figuring out exactly what that looks like. We will add studying and fishing as idle in the future.

Burrows 2.0. Better controls, easier editing, and more ways to express yourself. We're adding crafting recipes that tie fishing rewards into burrow customization, and shared burrows so you can build with your friends. Go kart tracks, mini games, embedded videos, music.

Mobile App Expansion. Lofi.town started as an ambience app, but we want to create other tools that fit into your productivity workflow. This also helps us reach a different audience. The idea behind all our expansions is that everything ties together—your same account works across all our apps.

UX Improvements. We're simplifying the first-time user experience and making UI improvements across the board. We want lofi.town to feel intuitive from the moment you open it.

Super Secret In-Game Event. We can't say more yet. But it's happening.

We're Growing the Team

We could use some help. We're looking to bring on more community managers, and we could really use someone to help with product management. If you're super detailed, love creating public-facing docs, and enjoy gathering feedback—reach out. Seriously.

We Want Your Input

What features matter most to you? We have a survey coming to help us prioritize, but don't wait for that. If you love some of these ideas, tell us. If you hate some, tell us that too. The most important thing is that you share your thoughts. We're building this for you, and we want to build it with you.
